WHY I’VE STOPPED OFFERING LIMITED EDITION GICLEE PRINTS
You may have noticed that I’ve launched my new website without any reference to limited edition giclee prints, so let me explain why ……
Exclusive Availability
Whether you are an avid art investor or not, you will know that availability can count towards something being a good investment or not. If a piece of artwork or a print has been made 500+ times, it is obviously not as desirable or valuable as just 1 single piece.
I want you to know that you own the one and only, exclusive, original artwork that I have created. I may choose the artwork as a design for a small, limited-edition batch of greetings card but rest assured, there will never be a large-scale replica print of the artwork out there in someone else’s home.
One-Of-A-Kind Treasure
I want my clients and investors to feel special. You are receiving a rare gift, a legacy item of unique value that can be passed through generations. It is not something you pick off a shelf in places like Ikea or John Lewis. I don’t churn work out in great batches because my focus is predominantly based on passion and quality.
I want you to see and feel the love that has been poured into each pastel stroke and mark on the paper. My time spent on safari in Africa fuels my creations and defines my style straight from the source.
Handcrafted Uniqueness
The best thing about original artwork is that it is entirely unique. There is nothing formulaic, and even I couldn’t replicate another artwork exactly the same as the original.
Anything hand-made captures a moment in time. It is a transfer of energy from my inner-being (my heart, my gut, my brain) and moves out through my hand to the paper. That is something a computer cannot and will never produce. A.I. won’t ever replace human-made and human-inspired artwork.
Heart Led, Gut Instinct
When I first offered giclee prints, I was led by my brain. I was following business advice and ticking a box. But over time, the decision didn’t feel as though it aligned with my beliefs or values and it certainly didn’t fulfil my business goals, needs or desires.
So, I’ve listened to my heart and paid attention to my gut instinct and my offering of original artwork feels far more genuine and authentic as to how I want my skills and talents to be represented in the world.
Most importantly, I want you, my clients and investors to feel that element of rare exclusivity – you are the chosen ones to provide a home to each individual artwork and I’m honoured that it is able to breathe life into your surroundings.
