Introducing Key and Local Characters
Travelling is all about experiencing new places and cultures and a massive part of that also comes down to the people we meet and interact with along the way. I was fortunate to be part of a trip with 15 strangers, who became incredible friends after a tour around Bali. While my photobook includes many pictures of them all, I felt the need to have an intro page at the start of the book, almost like a cast list, so they had their own individual mention.

The image below, highlights how important local characters are too. The children in Rwanda that I came across didn't involve deep levels of communication or emotional bonds, but they evoke very strong memories in a different sense. Although we spoke different verbal languages, they were so happy and excited to smile and wave at us and my photobook wouldn't have been complete without them.

Characters Aren't Always Human!
Yes, another road trip means credit also needs to go to the four-wheels that transported us all the way from Durban to the Drakensburg Mountains, through Zululand to the wetlands coast and back to Durban. 
Elements like this are key factors that make a trip unique so that's why I like to give them prominence.
