Harvest Mouse and Tulip

Original Artwork (50cm x 70cm): Double mounted plus gutter mount, UV protection glass and framed
I was instantly drawn to making this piece; firstly because it created a completely new challenge in terms of subject matter and colour scheme, secondly because of the shift in scale from my usual large animals, and thirdly because I loved the concept of something as small and delicate as the tulip being able to provide a protective and safe space for the mouse.
It was a joy to create the silky sheen and pleated curves of the petals and I found it was once again a reminder of how exceptionally beautiful and clever mother nature is.
