This is what happens when you listen to your gut and follow where inspiration leads.
I set out with zero expectations other than to have a play and just enjoy the process. I initially wanted a really smooth, marble-like sheen to the face but it evolved and ended up reminding me of the enormous stone Ramses statues at Abu Simbel (that’s a travel adventure story for another day).
I also think the tonal range has an ancestral feel to it as it reminds me of the Lion King when Mufasa takes Simba to look at the stars:
‘Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars’.
