The Boss
Silverback Gorilla
Charcoal, soft pastels and pastel pencils
Original Artwork (70cm x 50cm): Double mounted plus gutter mount, UV protection glass and framed
I loved working on this piece as it brought back wonderful memories of my trip to Rwanda seeing these magnificent creatures in the wild. With mountain gorillas on the endangered species list, this piece reminds me of the importance to show up as ourselves, presenting the duality of powerful confidence and fragile vulnerability.
I am delighted to announce that 'The Boss' was shortlisted in the Artists for Painted Dogs Autumn 2021 competition where it was exhibited online alongside many other selected artists work in October and November 2021. Artists for Painted Dogs supports the following charities: Game Rangers International, Endangered Wildlife Trust and Wildlife Act.
