The Road Less Travelled

As a species, we habitually like to follow the pack but sometimes there are benefits to doing the opposite.

It is easy to go to local woods and parks in a hope to see wildlife but these locations are frequented by ‘the world and his wife’ on good weather days and copious numbers of loyal dog walkers the rest of the time.

Think Outside The Box

To get away from the crowds and to have a higher chance of actually seeing something of interest, checking out an OS Map is definitely the way forward. Footpaths traversing agricultural land with a mix of crops and grazing livestock can come up trumps for spotting different species of deer, hares, rabbits and foxes.

So embrace the originality of somewhere that might involve a bit more ‘outside the box’ thinking, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you’ll likely have the place all to yourself.
